Shortlist 2002

The short list for the 54th Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour were announced March 19, 2002 at the Orillia Branch of the Laurentian Bank of Canada.

The five short-listed authors are:

Will Ferguson of Calgary won the 2002 Stephen Leacock Memoral Medal for Humour for his first novel Generica published by Penguin.  A clever, witty, book, Generica takes a satirical look at the self-help industry and is a great pleasure to read.

The Gala Award Weekend will be held June 7 and 8th, 2002 with the Award Dinner being held at the Geneva Park Convention Centre on Saturday, June 8th. Tickets, priced at $60 per person, are available from Linda Crawford at 705-325-6917. Reserve yours soon. This is always a sell-out event.
